LAMINA rooted in the racially charged history and spatially divisive topology of Kansas City’s Paseo West, LAMINA envisions the site as a stratified framework of resilience and spatial equity. The intersection of these layers creates an urban fabric that emphasizes flexibility, self-sufficiency, sustainability, and social belonging for residents of all ages and backgrounds. Designed to grow and adapt with the community, LAMINA offers a strong, complete foundation and catalyst for vibrant and diverse futures.

Building on the complex history of racialised disinvestment and radical industrialisation, LAMINA layers the programmatic needs of the community on a personal scale to revitalise the neighbourhood and catalyse economic and creative development.
